A Reiki treatment can help bring you to a place of peace and deep relaxation

Just for today do not worry
Just for today do not anger
Honour your parents, teachers and elders
Earn your living honestly
Show gratitude to every living thing

Reiki Treatments and Teaching – Reiki is an integral part of my therapy practice and my everyday life.  It helps me stay centered, focused and allows me to connect with the beauty of the world around me.  When life gets hectic and stressful it gives me a space to be still and calm and also recharges me with vitality.  I am very grateful for this great gift and encourage everyone who feels drawn towards learning more about Reiki, to receive a Reiki treatment and/or learn Reiki for themselves and to feel confident that you too can connect with Reiki energy.  I have been giving Reiki treatments since 2002 and have been teaching Reiki since 2010.

Reiki Teaching – I teach Usui Reiki 1, Reiki 2 and Reiki Master/Teacher level in Derbyshire.  I am also a registered Holy Fire II Karuna Reiki® Master/Teacher

Next Reiki Level 1 – Two day course at The Natural Healthcare Centre – Sunday 7th and Sunday 14th April 2024

Comments from Reiki Students:Experience a Reiki treatment for yourself - feel revitalised and deeply relaxed

‘The training Cheryl gave was interesting, absorbing, well-paced and meaningful’
Susan Langridge, Reiki 1

‘I have found Reiki 2 not only invaluable for my work as a holistic therapist but also to use in everyday life with friends, family and cats! Cheryl calmly guided me through Reiki level 2 learning and was also there for me as a support in the following weeks’
Lisa Murphy, Holistic Therapist, Reiki 2

‘I met Cheryl from Vibrant Life when she delivered a Mindfulness course I attended. Subsequently I had a Indian head massage/reiki treatment and have recently had the opportunity to undertake Reiki 1 and Reiki 2 under her guidance and training. Cheryl puts you at ease, is professional, supportive, knowledgeable, inspiring and spreads warmth and kindness through her work. Highly recommend for anyone to have any treatment’
Paula Senior, Reiki 1 and 2

What is Reiki?

Reiki (pronounced Ray-key) is a system of natural hands-on healing which has been around for thousands of years but was rediscovered in Japan 100 years ago. It is profoundly relaxing, helping to still the mind, heal the body and bring inner peace. Reiki means ‘universal life energy’, the vital energy around and within all living things.

Reiki evolved in Japan from the experience and dedication of Mikao Usui who was inspired to develop this healing system from ancient teachings after many years of study, research and meditation. He spent the rest of his life practising and teaching Reiki. Today Reiki continues to be taught by Reiki Masters who have trained in the tradition passed down from Master to student.

There is no belief system attached to Reiki so anyone can receive or learn to give a Reiki treatment. The only prerequisite is the desire to give and accept Reiki energy.

What happens during a Reiki treatment?

You simply lie fully clothed on a couch and relax. If you are unable to lie down the treatment can be given in a sitting position. The important thing is that you are as comfortable as possible. I then gently place my hands non-intrusively in a sequence of positions which covers the whole body.

How long does a Reiki treatment last?

A full treatment usually takes one hour however a shorter treatment can be given if necessary. For maximum benefit it is recommended that a course of at least four treatments is taken, particularly if you have been suffering from a chronic condition for a number of years.

Reiki Teaching/Attunements?

To become a Reiki healer you must receive attunements from a Reiki Master/Teacher which allows the Reiki energy to enter in and flow. There are 3 levels in the Usui System of Reiki. Reiki 1 prepares you for healing yourself and friends or family. Reiki 2 takes you to practitioner level and allows you to heal distantly and Reiki Master/Teacher allows you to pass on the Reiki energy in the form of attunements and teaching.  If you already a Reiki Master you can take a 3 day Holy Fire II Karuna Reiki® Master Course with me.

I offer Usui Reiki Teaching and Attunements to levels 1, 2 and Reiki Master-Teacher.  I also teach a 3 day Holy Fire II Karuna Reiki ® Master Course if you are already a Reiki Master:

Reiki 1 teaching involves 4 teaching sessions of approx. 3 hours each during which you will learn about the history of Reiki, how Reiki works and its benefits, the Reiki principles and the Reiki treatment itself. Alongside the teaching, you will be given attunements as well as learning meditation, grounding and protection techniques. You will then be ready to apply your new skills and awareness practically by treating other students or your Reiki Master. A 1st degree certificate will be presented on completion of your course and case studies.

Reiki 2 teaching involves 4 teaching sessions of approx. 3 hours each during which you will learn more about the importance of meditation, auras and chakras in Reiki work. The Reiki symbols will be described and you will be given your 2nd degree attunement. If you wish to use Reiki as a treatment for the general public, you will be given guidance on the practical implications of working as a Reiki practitioner. Distance healing will be taught and you will be able to put this into practice during the session. Throughout the course, practical meditation and Reiki healing will be shared giving you an opportunity to practice your new understanding within a supportive environment. You will also be given case studies to carry out as homework. A 2nd degree Reiki Certificate will be presented to you upon completion of your case studies.

Reiki Master-Teacher level is a one-to-one teaching which initially involves 2 full days of teaching during which you go deeper into the many Reiki practices, which have been coming out of Japan over the last few years.  You are given the Reiki Master symbol and receive the Reiki Master-Teacher attunement.  You are then taught how to give the Reiki attunement and teaching of Reiki 1 and Reiki 2 is discussed.  We share Reiki, meditation and spiritual practices.  If the student wishes to progress to teacher level, attendance and shared teaching at my Reiki 1 and Reiki 2 teaching days is part of the process.

The Holy Fire II Karuna Reiki® Master course takes 3 days during which you learn some new Reiki practices.  You are also given the Karuna Reiki® levels 1 and 2 symbols and also the Holy Fire symbol (The Holy Fire energy is a powerful new energy that was brought in via William Lee Rand in 2014).  You also receive ignitions (in place of attunements).  You are then taught how to give ignitions and teaching of the Holy Fire II Karuna Reiki® Master level is learnt.  In order to take this course, you must already be a Reiki Master in either Usui Reiki or Karuna Reiki®.
